FUTURE SEEDS Resident Artists 2010-12

Sprouts Residents created, communicated and lived in the Catskills’ working landscape. Media Artist Zohar Kfir developed the timelapse content for her SEED project, an interactive video installation showcasing patterns of growth and decay of sprouting processes.  Layet Johnson developed and documented content for his MKBIP iPhone application, an inventory of botanical species at the Michael Kudish Natural History Preserve including live weather stats from NOAA.  Sam Hammer, Biologist/Artist and his Vermiculture Project demystified the art and science of worms through video, worm art and a public worm composting project. The artists found the mobile studio’s 2011-12 setting at the Michael Kudish Natural History Preserve conducive to their time based media projects and a peaceful retreat to concentrate on work.
